How is scoring calculated?

Finishing place is decided by, in order:

  1. Total adjusted weight (after the dead-fish penalty)
  2. Big fish weight
  3. Number of fish caught

Dead-fish penalty. Each dead fish deducts 0.25 lb from an angler's raw weight. The weight shown already reflects this adjustment.

Tournament points. 1st place earns 50 points, 2nd earns 49, and so on (50 − (Place − 1)). Anglers who fish but don't weigh in earn 0 tournament points.

Meeting & debrief points. Attending the meeting adds 5 pts and the debrief adds 5 pts. These carry into the season-long Angler of the Year race.

Top Team award (boat pairings) breaks ties by:

  1. Combined fish count (all anglers in the boat)
  2. Combined boat total weight
  3. Biggest single fish caught by the team
